THE NEW OJOTA PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE: BEFORE AND AFTER (IN PICTURES)

The Lagos State Government had barely a year ago in 2016 said it will construct an additional footbridge at Ojota bus-stop on Ikorodu Road to complement the existing one following the upsurge in its usage.

The State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, had in a statement anchored the decision on the need to urgently address the excessive delay that was being experienced by pedestrians using the only available bridge.

Moreover, it became even more expedient following the construction of a New Jersey Wall on the median of the expressway to effectively forestall the possibility of anyone dangerously crossing the expansive express road.

Now, the construction of the bridge is done and dusted and it’s ready for commissioning on Friday, the 24th of March, 2017.
