TRAIN KNOCKS DOWN TEENAGER CHATTING ON PHONE

19-year-old lady who was chatting on the phone, oblivious to the fact that she was walking before an oncoming train, has miraculously survived the deadly encounter.

The young lady, Pratiksha Natekar, miraculously survived what would have been a horrendous accident in Mumbai India.

The train had reportedly run over her while she was chatting on her mobile phone.

However, she survived the impact and was pulled up uninjured from the tracks.

She could be seen in the CCTV trying to get on to the crowded platform as the passenger train pulled up, but she was unaware of the noise of the locomotive while busy chatting on her mobile phone, with her earphones plugged in.

When she finally became aware of the danger, she attempted to move towards the platform, but realising she didn’t have enough time to climb on to it, she changed direction, and she was hit from behind.

She was knocked flat on her face, but the train moved on.

Passengers awaiting their rides watched in horror as Natekar disappeared under the locomotive.

She was, however, pulled up from the tracks with no injury except a cut near her left eye.

Railway Police Inspector, Ashok Bhorade, said, “As she was busy over the phone, she didn’t hear a goods train thundering down the tracks.

“When she suddenly looked up, the train had already reached her. She panicked and ran first towards the platform and then straight into the train.”

Natekar was taken to Rajawadi Hospital in Mumbai, but she was not thought to have been seriously injured.
