The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), on Tuesday said it had licensed 150 taxis to operate shuttle services from the Kaduna International Airport beginning from Wednesday.
Mrs Amina Ozi-Salami, the Airport Manager said in Kaduna that Airport Taxis Company would deploy 100 cabs while the Kaduna Taxi Services Company would provide 50.
She said that the taxi cabs were licensed to provide shuttle services to and fro the airport for passengers.
The manager said Abuja-bound domestic and international flights would switch to the Kaduna International Airport by Tuesday midnight.
According to her, Ethiopian Airlines would open landing operations at the International Wing of the airport by 11:30 am on Wednesday.
She said: “Arik Air would also begin international take-off operation with a flight to Accra, Ghana from the Kaduna International airport.”
The manager added that landing and take-off for domestic flights would begin by 7:30 am on Wednesday.
According to her, adequate security arrangements had been made, with personnel deployed to the airport to provide support for the airport security.
Ozi-Salami also said that the police, Customs and Immigration officials would provide the necessary security checks at the airport to ensure safety of passengers and their luggage.
