The Federal Government said on Monday that it would cost as much as $166bn in the next five years to provide infrastructure in energy and transport sectors of the economy. It stated that the money could rise to $3.05tn in 30 years. The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, gave the figures at the National Assembly in Abuja.

NPA CERTIFIES 9,258 TRUCKS FIT FOR PORT OPERATION
The General Manager of NPA Western Ports, Chief Michael Ajayi in a recent interview with Ships & Ports Daily said that no fewer than 9,258 trucks have passed the minimum standards test of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and have been certified to participate in moving goods in and out of the seaports in Lagos.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Tuesday unveiled Oshodi Transport Interchange designed to transform Oshodi to a world-class transport centre and end all notorious activities in the area. The Governor said the transport interchange, which will cost $70 million, would be constructed on the public-private partnership arrangement, noting that it would be completed between 13 and 16 months.
