All is now set for the grand commissioning of the $1.04Billion Abuja-Kaduna High-speed rail a couple of weeks from now. But for the need to accommodate the President’s tight schedule and the on-going Islamic Fasting Season, the rail would have been commissioned much earlier than the new rescheduled date.

Ogun State government has started the demolition of shanties and illegal structures along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and other parts of the state. The State Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Adebola Adeife, who disclosed this in Abeokuta yesterday, said Government’s Taskforce, had during the week demolished over 120 illegal structures erected along the highway.
