FG RELEASES N72B COUNTERPART FUND TO BUILD LAGOS-IBADAN RAIL LINE

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, yesterday disclosed that the Federal Government has released its counterpart fund for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan Modernisation Railway Project. The minister said this at the second Presidential Business Forum which was presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja.

A fuel-laden tanker on Tuesday fell along CMD road, Magodo Phase 2, inwards Mobil filling station on Lagos/Ibadan expressway, spilling its content. Similarly, another containerised truck fell into a ditch at Secretariat Road inward Lagos toll gate.

FERMA STARTS REHABILITATION OF THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE

The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency has started the rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos to ease difficulty being faced by motorists. The Engineer in charge of the agency, Lagos East, Mr. Tayo Awodun told newsmen that the agency is working on both carriageways of the bridge in a manner that would not affect the flow of traffic.
