One hundred and fifty-nine traffic offenders in Lagos State have been convicted by the state mobile courts in the last seven days. Our correspondent learnt that 115 of the convicts were private car owners, while 30 were commercial drivers. Also, 10 tricycle owners and four motorcycle owners were among those convicted.

FRSC SETS UP SPECIAL INTERVENTION PATROL FOR OKENE-LOKOJA-GEGU ROAD
On Tuesday, the Zonal Commanding Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Zone RS8SQ, Assistant Corps Marshal John Meheux inaugurated the Special Intervention Patrol along the Okene-Zariagi-Lokoja-Koton Karfe-Gegu corridor to arrest the increasing rate of fatal road accidents. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Tuesday unveiled Oshodi Transport Interchange designed to transform Oshodi to a world-class transport centre and end all notorious activities in the area. The Governor said the transport interchange, which will cost $70 million, would be constructed on the public-private partnership arrangement, noting that it would be completed between 13 and 16 months.
