BREAKING NEWS: 2019 APC GOVERNORSHIP HOPEFUL OF OYO STATE NARROWLY ESCAPES DEATH IN A GHASTLY MOTOR ACCIDENT (PICTURES)

Tragedy was averted last night as the 2019 Oyo State Governorship hopeful under the political platform of APC, Professor Adeolu Akande, narrowly escaped death in a ghastly motor accident.

The accident was reported to have happened along Iseyin-Oke Ogun Road on probably what could be a return journey from a late night political meeting.

A staunch supporter and aide of the Governorship hopeful, Barrister Dayo Ajibola, reported the accident on his Facebook Page at exactly 5.03am August 14, 2017 in the following words:

“What a terrible sleepless night I just went through – my boss just escaped Death by the whisker along Iseyin Oke-ogun road – Nothing will happen to this God’s project – Professor Adeolu Akande will not die but will be on ground to deliver all the goodies to the good people of Oyo state and beyond come 2019.

“Thank you God for this -despite all, TEAM ADEOLU AKANDE, WE DEY KAMPE!!! WE trust NOT In juju; In God WE trust!!!”

LOCALLY-ASSEMBLED VEHICLES TO GET SPEED LIMITERS

As part of efforts to reduce the rate of speed-related accidents in Nigeria, the National Automotive Development and Design Council has directed all vehicle manufacturing plants in the country to install the speed-limiting device in their vehicles.
A deadline for compliance on the installation of the device in all vehicles being imported into the country has also been given.

He said, “The impact associated with the implementation of the auto policy is as follows: the diversion of cars carrying vessel to neighbouring West African ports as a result of high tariff on imported vehicles; and the reduction of the maritime workforce by 70 per cent, which affects mostly licensed customs agents, importers, dealers and Nigerians abroad.”

When you hit a pothole you can damage your tyre and/or the metal wheel of your vehicle. Keeping your tyres properly inflated will help reduce damage from potholes and other road hazards.

The impact of potholes on tyres increases dramatically with speed and can cause hidden, internal damage that could lead to tyre failure weeks, or even months, later. It\'s best to avoid potholes entirely, but if that\'s not possible, don\'t brake during the pothole impact. Instead, apply brakes before hitting a pothole and release them just before impact. Braking during the impact sets up the tyre and wheel assembly for a \"solid hit\" against the edge of the hole. Less severe damage occurs when a tyre is rolling than when it is skidding over a hole during braking.
