LASWA’S PLAN THREATENS WATERWAY TRANSPORT IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Waterways Authority’s (LASWA’s) plan to end activities of boat operators through the waterways may threaten the movement of over 1.2 million Lagosians who travel through the waterways every day to work and school. ARMY REOPENS MADAGALI-GWOZA ROAD

The Nigerian Army yesterday announced that it had re-opened the Madagali-Gwoza Road linking Borno and Adamawa States, closed several months ago due to the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents. The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Lucky Irabor, disclosed this when he received a delegation from the House of Representatives Committee on Defence in his office in Maiduguri.

OGUN STATE COMMENCES DEMOLITION OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES ON LAGOS-IBADAN ROAD

Ogun State government has started the demolition of shanties and illegal structures along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and other parts of the state. The State Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Adebola Adeife, who disclosed this in Abeokuta yesterday, said Government’s Taskforce, had during the week demolished over 120 illegal structures erected along the highway.
