Conoil Plc said it has placed orders for two new world-class, state-of-the-art bowsers to deepen its quality service delivery to leading domestic and international airlines operating in the nation’s airspace.
The company said in a statement that the new bowsers have combined storage capacity of 62,000 liters and the ability to refuel aircraft at 1,500 liters per minute.
With this service, airlines are assured of improved fueling of their airplanes on real-time basis. This, in turn, will guarantee better operations and flight take-off time for better flight experience for the airlines’ teeming fliers.
According to the company, the bowsers, which were manufactured by Flightline UK, have the latest technology certified by global aviation control bodies, the Joint Inspection Group (JIG) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Conoil noted that the manufacturers said the bowsers were built with robust safety and interlocking monitoring systems and international standard filters, adding that they also have the unique feature of ticket printer that indicates the volume of fuel pumped into an aircraft, thereby further enhancing the transparency and reliability of its service delivery.
With the acquisition of the bowsers, the company said its Jet A1 fueling capacity to local and international airlines has increased by 100 percent from 10 million liters to 20 million liters per month.
The substantial increase in Jet A1 sales, according to Conoil, is projected to boost the company’s bottom-line by over 25 per cent over the next one year while also increasing significantly its industry share in the aviation fuel segment.
“This investment is a major plus for the Nigerian aviation industry and the economy in general because it makes the industry more robust by ensuring that more international airlines pick Nigeria as their final destination of choice to refuel,” the statement added.
