NAHCO AVIANCE CHIEF BIELDERMAN RESIGNS

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc, Nahco Aviance, Norbert Bielderman, has submitted his letter of resignation.

A notice posted to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, on Thursday morning said Mr. Bielderman would formally disengage from the company on August 31.

According to statement signed by Tayo Ajakaiye, the company’s corporate communications manager, Mr. Bielderman joined Nahco in 2010.

He was appointed Executive Director of Operations in 2013, named acting Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the company in 2014 and his appointment as CEO was confirmed in 2015.

It was not clear why Mr. Bielderman was stepping down.

According to the statement, the resignation notice is in line with the company’s well laid down succession planning process.

He said, “The impact associated with the implementation of the auto policy is as follows: the diversion of cars carrying vessel to neighbouring West African ports as a result of high tariff on imported vehicles; and the reduction of the maritime workforce by 70 per cent, which affects mostly licensed customs agents, importers, dealers and Nigerians abroad.”

The impact of potholes on tyres increases dramatically with speed and can cause hidden, internal damage that could lead to tyre failure weeks, or even months, later. It\'s best to avoid potholes entirely, but if that\'s not possible, don\'t brake during the pothole impact. Instead, apply brakes before hitting a pothole and release them just before impact. Braking during the impact sets up the tyre and wheel assembly for a \"solid hit\" against the edge of the hole. Less severe damage occurs when a tyre is rolling than when it is skidding over a hole during braking.
