As part of measures to support Nigeria’s National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP, representative of Suzuki Motors in Nigeria, Boulos Enterprises Limited said it will soon begin to roll out Suzuki vehicle in the country.

The organisation, which ceased its representation of a three-wheeler, Piaggio earlier in the year, told The Guardian in Lagos that it has made progress in building its assembly line and would begin production of Suzuki Super Carry 1.0 ton to expand its 57 years representation of the brand in Nigeria.

The vehicles, which are to be assembled from a Semi Knock Down (SKD) parts is expected to support commercial and passenger vehicle segment.

Marketing Manager of the organisation, Titi Olodun said: “The assembly line is 1,132 square metres long, with additional 1,200square metres where fabrication of a range of custom made bodies for the Suzuki will be manufactured.

“These include refrigerated units, vans, six seater people carriers, tippers, hoppers, pick-ups, mobile shops and many other body options.

“The new facilities will be equipped with state of the art modern manufacturing tools and equipment, with associated infrastructure built to the exacting standards of Suzuki Japan.

According to her, the venture will not only protect the jobs of Nigerians, but also set in place a clear manufacturing base in Lagos.”

Stating that the organisation would continue to reinforce its confidence in the Nigerian market, Olodun said the development was a move to ensure continued employment for Nigerians.
