The Federal Government on Tuesday inaugurated the Abuja-Kaduna road which was given an emergency facelift with the sum of N1.1 billion. Mr Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, who inaugurated road, commended the contractor for completing the project on scheduled. He said the project was awarded on Jan. 7 with completion period of 50 days.

The Police Command in Kaduna State on Tuesday confirmed the kidnap of the immediate past Minister of Environment, Mrs Laurentia Mallam and her husband, Mr Pius. The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Friday launched an operation against kidnappers and other hoodlums by deploying 510 anti-riot policemen on Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. The operation which was backed with 40 patrol vehicles and armoured carriers, was expected to man dark spots and vulnerable points along the road which had become notorious for kidnapping and other violent crimes.
