The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has said Nigeria lost three per cent of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to road accident in 2015. The loss, according to him, amounts to $131,817,676,080, adding that the economic losses have been grievous and monumental.

At least 80 persons have been killed in different auto accidents on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway between January and June 2016. The statistics were obtained from only the cases reported by our correspondents and confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), the Ogun State Police Command and other agencies.
