The Ekiti State Government says the four persons who died during the week after their boat capsized at Egbe Dam in Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state were neither World Bank officials nor workers of the state government. It had been reported earlier that four World Bank Consultants drowned in Egbe River on Tuesday night.

SIX EKITI VARSITY STUDENTS DIE IN AUTO CRASH (GRAPHIC PICTURES)

No fewer than six students of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, are feared dead in an auto crash involving a car and a commercial bus on Monday. The accident occurred around 7.30pm in front of the institution’s main gate. An eyewitness account said that six persons died from the impact of an head-on collision of the two vehicles.

BUTCHER FELL FROM AN OKADA, CRUSHED BY TRUCK IN ADO-EKITI

In an accident reminiscent of the one that happened in Ibadan a few weeks ago, a commercial truck on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, crushed a butcher to death in an early morning road disaster. The accident, which happened at Mojere Market area of Adebayo, caused a gridlock as passers-by rushed to the scene.
