Tragedy struck in Enugu, yesterday, when a train driver rammed into buses and traders at the popular Ogbete Main Market, Enugu, killing a middle-aged man known as Ikechukwu. Several people were also left with various degrees of injuries as the train got to the area without the usual blaring of horns to alert other road users.

No fewer than eight persons have been confirmed dead in a car crash in Enugu State. The accident occurred along the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway, by the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital junction, at Ituku-Ozalla.

The Federal Road Safety Commission says it will use ongoing annual women’s “August Meeting” in communities in Enugu state to intensify its road safety enlightenment.
