Ten people have been confirmed dead while nine others sustained injuries in a motor accident that occurred along Ibadan-Oyo Road on Saturday evening. Eyewitness said the accident, which happened at Itose village along the road, involved a Toyota Hiace commuter bus with number plate LSD 191 XK that was travelling from Sango-Ota in Ogun State to Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Oyo State office of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria says it has seized about 2000 used imported tyres from traders in Ibadan. The seizure was made during one of the major operations designed to check the importation of used tyres popularly referred to as Tokunbo tyres into the country, the organisation said.

The Oyo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps said it recorded 107 deaths in 137 road accidents within the first quarter of 2015. The Sector Commander, Mr. Yusuf Salami, added that 688 persons sustained injuries within the period.
