FG MULLS CONCESSIONING OF EASTERN, WESTERN RAIL LINES IN 6 MONTHS

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Amaechi, said on Friday that the Federal Government would in February, 2017 consider approval for the concessioning of the Eastern and Western rail lines. Amaechi stated this to State House correspondents after Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo inaugurated a steering committee for the concessioning of the Eastern and Western rail lines at the Presidential Villa.

NRC INCREASES CAPACITY FOR GOODS HAULAGE, WORKING ON FUEL HAULAGE

The Nigerian Railway Corporation says it has increased its capacity for goods haulage, especially dry products, in the Lagos district with the intention to capture more freight business this year. It also said the corporation planned to improve its movement of petroleum products as more oil companies showed interest in using the train to transport their products across the country.
