Three passengers on Thursday night died in a fatal accident involving a trailer and a J5 bus along Bauchi-Gombe federal highway.
The accident was said to have occurred when the J5 had a head-on collision with the trailer, killing three passengers, who were burnt beyond recognition.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, Haruna Mohammed, in a statement made available to our correspondent in Bauchi, said the deceased are yet to be identified.
He said, “On Thursday at about 11:25pm, there was a fatal motor accident at Jagalwa area of Kirfi LGA, along Bauchi- Gombe Federal highway involving a Boxer J5 and DAF lorry with registration number SH 104 GME loaded with beans and driven by one Ahmed Usman, male of Kwadom area of Gombe State.
“Police patrol team attached to Kirfi division in collaboration with FRSC officials visited the scene and rushed casualties to general hospital for medical attention. Three of the victims were certified dead on arrival by the medical doctor while the driver of the truck was rescued and is responding to treatment.”
