Some Marketing or Business Development gurus really do know what’s up! Sounds pedestrian, but we in Haulage Report Now can tell you for free that Mack really do have this well locked down and it’s not too surprising why they remain the preferred haulage asset in the States.
Now, we ask, what are our in-country heavy duty truck dealers doing in this regard? Or maybe one should ask; what are our major haulage companies doing to strategically position their business? Now read this. Maybe you might be inclined to ask similar questions!
After a journey of more than 5,000 miles, a Mack Pinnacle delivered the 2013 Capitol Christmas Tree to the U.S. Capitol. The tree traveled from the Colville National Forest in the state of Washington to the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol, making stops in communities across the country. The 88-ft. Engelmann Spruce was hand-selected from a pool of candidate trees suggested by Colville National Forest employees.
As a sponsor of the tree tour, Mack provided two Pinnacle models for the cross-country tour. Both were decaled with the 2013 Capitol Christmas Tree tour logo and patriotic images of a bulldog pulling a Christmas tree toward the U.S. Capitol. The trucks were equipped with the Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmissions and the Mack Twin Y air suspension. Mack has provided trucks for the Capitol Christmas Tree tour several times, most recently in 2011 and 2012.
So we ask again: Who delivered Aso Rock Xmas Tree? Who delivered the massive facilities mobilized for the Ajose Adeogun’s (Victoria Island, Lagos) beautification? Who delivered the cranes and sets construction equipments for the Lagos Countdown Show? We can go on and on. Our argument basically is that our business development thinkers in the haulage services industry really have to start thinking outside the box. Haulage has gone far beyond buying and simply fueling trucks! The business that sustains the industry does matter too!
