CFAO ROLLS OUT NEW-GENERATION MITSUBISHI L200 PICKUP

Nine years after marketing the last edition of L200 pickup truck, Mitsubishi Motors has introduced a completely redesigned model to the global auto market including Nigeria.

The L200 is considered one of the Mitsubishi’s long-time global best-sellers. First launched in August 2005, the outgoing model is reported to have sold a total of 1,260,000 units worldwide as of September last year.

Designed as an ultimate Sport Utility Truck, the manufacturer says the new vehicle combines the comfortable interior of a passenger car with the functionality and reliability of a pickup.

That the distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Nigeria, CFAO Motors, chose to launch the new product first in Abuja, the nation’s capital, speaks volumes about the major targets of the one-tonne pickup truck.

It was a big event held at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel. And Mitsubishi Motors Corporation was represented by its General Manager, Nairobi Liaison Office, Mr. Taiki Murai, at the presentation of the all-new L-200 pickup truck to the automobile journalists.

The Managing Director of CFAO Motors, Mr. Thomas Pelletier says “The all-new L200 gets its full redesign in nine years and CFAO Motors is happy to introduce it to the Nigerian Market.”

 

Interior/exterior

With its muscular, sleek and dynamic styling, the vehicle is said to evoke the form of a well-honed athlete.

The all-new L200 also provides generous interior space, ample payload capacity, and class-leading handling.

 

Safety

It achieves high levels of safety performance through its durable and sturdy chassis and frame structures along with MMC’s own RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) impact safety body.

The all-new L200 also delivers quietness and ride comfort on a par with a passenger car, thanks to a new engine, optimisation of the suspension, the strategic placement of sound insulation, absorption and vibration damping materials.

The all-new L200 is available in single cab and double cab variants, with a three-engine line-up.

Engine performance

The all new L200 is now available to the Nigerian customers in 2.4-litre petrol engine as well as 2.5-litre diesel engine.

The new 2.4-litre MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic control system) turbo diesel, which provides environmental and motive performance among the best in its class, joins improved versions of the well-proven 2.5-litre turbo diesel and 2.4-litre petrol engine.

The all-new L200 accommodates the varying needs and requirements of consumers, everything from commercial to private use.

CFAO Motors says the muscular New L200 is built tough to handle all kind to terrain. Streamlined styling also contributes to its class-leading aerodynamics and a smooth quite ride.

The General Manager, CFAO Motors, Mr. Navin Changer, says the launch of the new L200 is part of the auto firm’s commitment to providing its customers with a sales and service experience of international standard.
